Bigger Picture
(Written by: Annie Bosko, Danny Myrick, Rita Wilson)

Verse 1

Took an old scrapbook off a closet shelf
Dusted off the cover dusted off myself
Laid it in my lap and I opened it up
To find who I am in who I was
Wonder Woman cape on a wide-eyed girl
Dreams too big for a small town world
Faded red ribbon from my first track meet
Second place never was enough for me

Pre

You want to win but you compromise, you lose yourself in all the lies
Until you’re someone you hardly recognize

Chorus

Oh, they say you can’t move forward when you’re looking back
But I’m hoping there’s some answers hidden somewhere in the past
Every snapshot, memory
Missing piece
Just might put me back together
Help me see the bigger picture

Verse 2

White corsage, senior prom
Christmas from the year that I lost my mom
Wedding day waving from the back of a car
Before broken vows and broken hearts

Pre

Now I’m time and tears and years removed from a world of hurt I can’t undo
Lost and searching for some kind of clue

Chorus

Oh, they say you can’t move forward when you’re looking back
But I’m hoping there’s some answers hidden somewhere in the past
Every snapshot, memory
Missing piece
Just might put me back together
Help me see the bigger picture

Bridge

The girl I thought I was isn’t lost in yesterday
Am I strong enough to turn another page?

Chorus

They say you can’t move forward when you’re looking back
But I found a couple answers hidden right here in my past
Every snapshot, memory
Missing piece
Just might put me back together
Help me see the bigger picture
The bigger picture
Took an old scrapbook off a closet shelf
Dusted off the cover dusted off myself

  4. I'm in LOVE with your music, Rita. 💖 Thank you so much for sharing you and YOUR songs with us. They move me deeply, and I can't get enough of them. 💜 I'm an empowerment coach that encourages people to be more of who they've always been – remember who they are and connect to that and own it. I also host a podcast/ show called "Every Day is a New Day" and would be honored if you came on as a guest to inspire my audience for a few minutes. I will find another way to reach out to you as well, but in this moment thought I would mention it here first. 🙏 Thank you again for your music. So moving and totally relatable. Happy New Year to you! 🌺💛🎉

  5. Beautiful song Rita! You are so talented and can't wait to see you perform in my hometown. Hank, you are a lucky man!

  6. I was blown away by hearing this on the radio twice. I saw that the singer was listed as Rita Wilson and figured no way could it be the actress. Then I was blown away to learn that it +is+ the Rita Wilson whose acting work I am familiar with. I used to work in the Nashville music industry and wrote songs recorded by several artists…man I wish Rita has been recording when I was there, because I have a song she could kill. I am eager to hear more from her!

  7. see, we should give songs like this more fame and love instead of the rap songs and terrible pop that all they talk about now a days is sex, drugs, suicide and money
